Trauma Center Trauma Sensitive Yoga (TCTSY) is an empirically validated, clinical intervention for complex trauma or chronic, treatment-resistant post -traumatic stress (PTSD), supported by more than 10 original, peer-reviewed studies and more independent analyses.

The TCTSY methodology is based on central components of trauma theory, attachment theory, neuroscience, and yoga philosophy and practice.

Although TCTSY employs physical forms and movements, the focus is on the internal experience of the participant-what the forms feel like instead of what they look like. This shift in orientation, from the external to the internal, is a key attribute of TCTSY as a complementary treatment for complex trauma. With this approach, the power resides within the individual, not the TCTSY facilitator.

Further, by focusing on the felt sense of the body to inform choice-making, TCTSY provides opportunities for participants to restore their connection between mind and body and to cultivate a sense of agency that is often compromised as a result of surviving trauma.

Embodied Politics: Healing the Social Body in Community

Freedom begins in the body.

A 12-Week Somatic Transformational Program Inspired by the Work of Wilhelm Reich, the founder of Somatic Psychotherapy

Freedom is not only political — it is embodied.

Wilhelm Reich showed that authoritarianism does not just live in governments; it lives in our bodies. When we grow up in systems of fear, control, and repression, we learn to carry that fear in our breath, our posture, and our nervous systems. The same “character armor” that once kept us safe can also keep us silent, submissive, and disconnected from our deepest aliveness.

This 12-week program explores the powerful connection between authoritarian politics and the body. Together we’ll examine how oppression imprints itself in the nervous system, how collective anxiety fuels authoritarian movements, and how reclaiming joy, pleasure, and embodiment can become acts of resistance. Each week blends teaching, guided practices, reflection, and community dialogue — creating space to notice, soften, and free the body while reimagining the society we can build together.
